Here’s a history lesson. The Aravaipa Auditorium was once a thriving center of activity on the ASU campus. But it had long since been abandoned for safety issues. RSP saw the historical and cultural value in the building, itself, and fought to save it. As the largest function space on the Polytechnic campus, our design ensures the theater is in harmony with the design of the overall campus. A new exterior aligns with the surrounding aesthetic while interior renovations completely transformed the space. The project includes a new lobby pre-function space, box office, projection screen, AV system, control room, new theater seating with improved sight lines, and a reshaped proscenium, ceiling and side walls to maximize acoustics.
The lesson? Good design can make history.
