Distinctive destination
An empty 50 acres. Once home to the global aerospace and technology company, Lockheed Martin, the site was begging for an inventive new development. Working closely with the City of Eagan, CSM Properties determined that a mix of retailers, not currently available in the market, was the key. At the heart of the project, The Village, a community-centric space designed by RSP to emulate an old town center. Surrounding retail and restaurants face inward, creating an inviting, vibrant atmosphere.
Unique design elements like herringbone brick patterns and custom cut stonework provide each retailer a distinct personality. Rare to this type of development was the use of pre-cast concrete wall panels. Our team recommended its use on the project because of its natural rock appearance and texture as well as its recycled content.
Distinct in its design, tenant mix and overall experience, Central Park Commons transformed a vacant space in the heart of Eagan into an engaging gathering place to work, shop and dine. The project embraces the natural landscape while supporting car, bike and pedestrian traffic, promising to renew activity on this high profile site.
