CityPlace Masterplan
Connecting the dots
When the old 400,000SF State Farm Insurance building moved locations, Woodbury’s 100-acre site just south of Interstate 94 became vacant. A large ravine and poor site access made it a challenging project. It needed someone to take control of the land and assemble a strategy. That’s when Elion Partners , Kraus Anderson and RSP joined together. 10 years later – and the site is ready to come back to life.
RSP’s master plan for CityPlace focused on connecting the dots and providing a variety of opportunities. Through numerous studies, we improved site access to major roadways and trail connections for bikers and pedestrians. Increased brand awareness with appealing view corridors supported by sustainable features concentrated with LED lighting. Absorbent tree trenches channel rainwater to nearby reservoirs and provide a softer, green environment for shoppers to enjoy.
The result? A true work-play-stay community with diverse options for food, recreation, shopping and cultural activities. One deserted building transformed into a place-making development. CityPlace is now an inviting venue with layered spaces connecting users to a destination.
