US Navy Miramar Golf Course Clubhouse and SNCO Club
MCAS Miramar Memorial Golf Course Clubhouse & SNCO Club is a Design/Build project that includes the new clubhouse, catering pavilion, and outdoor dining terraces. The new 16,000SF clubhouse and pro-shop is LEED™ Gold certified.
The design concept ties into the base-wide theme as well as creates a unique British West Indies style. The sustainable features and Anti-Terrorism Force Protection attributes of the building are incorporated into the resort atmosphere of the design. Cost: $6.6M.
The Golf Clubhouse complex includes the following core spaces:
- The Main Clubhouse with the Lounge, and two dining rooms that open to covered outdoor dining terraces; also administration areas and service areas for Clubhouse Staff.
- A separate private club for Staff Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCO) with a bar area, restrooms and access to the covered outdoor dining terraces.
- The Pro Shop separated by a breezeway from the main building, that faces the golf course starter’s shack and tees for holes 1 and 18.
- Kitchen with dishwashing area, walk-in refrigerator and freezer, employee’s break room/toilets, supply receiving area that serves all of the dining rooms, bars, and lounges.
- Catering Pavilion with restrooms and catering kitchen for serving large outdoor groups.
The sustainable features of the project include:
- 100% non-potable water irrigation.
- 20% local and recycled materials
- 100% Low-VOC paints, sealers and adhesives
- Natural daylight was provided throughout the facility Clubhouse including the kitchen and service areas.
