Inspiring Engagement in the Hybrid Workplace
TruWest Credit Union saw a pivotal moment for change after 40 years in their existing office space. The organization, building on their culture of care for members, the community, and employees, worked with building owner Wentworth Property Company to identify an ideal space at Discovery Business Campus. The RSP team, taking the lead as Interior Designer, embarked on a transformative journey of brand discovery and change management to address the challenge of exemplifying TruWest’s culture and fostering employee engagement in the evolving landscape of hybrid work.
RSP’s design concept centered on flexibility, innovation, and the essence of human connection. The collaborative planning efforts revealed the necessity of an adaptable, shared space. Upon entering, the casual experience hub redefines the corporate reception with an ambiance straight out of a hotel lobby, featuring a coffee bar, a curated mix of furniture, and strategically placed lighting, all of which creates a seamless digital connectivity experience. Extending the spatial concept, a boardroom, catering galley, breakroom and a 40-seat training room enhance the residential atmosphere. These multi-function spaces serve a range of purposes across a workday, work week or work year, further adding to the versatility of the design.
In pursuit of an equitable and open environment, RSP crafted a non-traditional layout, emphasizing spatial transparency and strengthening cultural connections. The administrative core, termed “the quarters,” envelops eight C-Suite offices around executive administrative workstations, promoting a transparent, “open-door” environment. Lower height workstations amplify natural light, reflecting values of honesty and trust while enhancing cross-office connections.
RSP envisioned the workspace as more than a physical entity—it is a true cultural hub, filled with legacy details and custom art that resonate with TruWest’s history and brand. Communal spaces of varying sizes support collaboration, focus, and employee choice. Residential-like amenities, upgraded finishes, and a refreshed layout redefine the TruWest office, rewarding employees with a contemporary workspace evolution and a dynamic office that supports the hybrid work model.
