It’s the best of both worlds. World-class orthopedic care in a walkable, urban setting. The new TRIA clinic in downtown St. Paul exemplifies the trend of easy-access healthcare – care that’s available where, and when, patients need it most. Every inch of the new clinic is tailor-made for convenience, ideal for a quick post-workout visit or a physical therapy session over lunch. And it’s located in the same building as the Minnesota Wild’s new professional practice facility, called TRIA Rink, underlining the organization’s commitment to supporting athletes from all walks of life.
The newest addition to the TRIA portfolio maximizes its care potential within a smaller footprint. With only 6,000 SF of space to work with, RSP designed a clinic with a radiology lab, a therapy services gym and eight exam/physical therapy rooms. The space was designed to be flexible, adjusting to the needs of the patients being treated in the moment. Exam rooms can accommodate physical therapy or clinical diagnosis treatments. Based on their individual care plans, patients can also access a full-service physical therapy gym and exercise equipment, just a few feet away from the exam rooms.
The clinic’s design is inspired by transparency, a key design principle from TRIA’s recently completed Woodbury location (also designed by RSP). From the moment you set foot in the clinic, you can see healing happening around you. Glass walls, translucent partitions and open layouts provide a balance of daylight and privacy, enhancing wellness for patients and care providers. Design details, like glass exam room doors etched with silhouettes of athletes, reflect TRIA’s celebration of the healing journey. This brand message is amplified by large-scale graphics and movement-themed photography throughout the gym area.
