Treasure Island Resort and Casino Wolf Tower
Creating Modern Miami in Minnesota
With 80,000+ guests a year, the island is thriving. In fact, even with the recent 184,000 SF expansion, Treasure Island Resort and Casino (TIRC) continues to near capacity as a luxuriously modern entertainment destination. With nearly 800 keys, TIRC is now the 2nd largest hotel in the state of Minnesota.
The new Wolf Tower departs from the tropical motif of the existing establishment and pulls inspiration from modern Miami. With clean lines, bold forms and elements of nature prominent in the materials, the design includes a series of dynamic intersections of planes, textures and patterns to evoke drama, while creating a modern play on cultural elements of the Tribe. The reinvented lobby connects and serves all six hotel towers with a vast expansion of sightlines, forming clearer circulation routes and adding to the overall guest experience. It is also conveniently equipped with a coffee shop, creating a relaxing ambiance and respite from the bustling casino. As a part of this expansion, 300 guest rooms were added. The standard room has a light, beach-like design aesthetic with oak casework and soft colored linens. The premium rooms and suites have upgraded finishes. Dark walnut accented by shades of gold and grey create a relaxing and lavish experience. Bathrooms feature full length glass showers with spa inspired rain heads and clean, modern finishes and fixtures.
Designing from the inside-out, the new interior style is incorporated into the exterior façade mimicking the same passion and life. A striking curved prow built out of aluminum draws attention to the new building, while a magenta metal frame adds an element of contrast to the clean white metal panels. Inspired by the vivid scenographic expressions of Miami Beach design, the original toucan logo is neon-lit on the facade, attracting those passing by and invoking excitement in arriving guests. A new outdoor courtyard and amphitheater space provides another amenity attracting a crowd of local guests and tourists. Utilizing subtropical modernism to create a rich and luxurious resort stay, the new Wolf Tower has elevated the guest experience to new heights, proving this island is here to stay.
