The Blakeley
Quiet Elegance Meets Modern Living
The Blakeley brings a new level of sophistication to suburban living, offering 205 thoughtfully designed units in the growing community of Shakopee. Located within the emerging Windermere development, this two-building community helps address the region’s growing housing shortage—one that’s expected to grow by 15% in the next three years. Backed by compelling market research and part of the broader vision for the area, The Blakeley responds to strong local demand with a mix of studios to three-bedroom homes, nearly 400 parking spots, and amenities designed to foster both comfort and connection.
RSP approached the project with a focus on refined contrast, pairing crisp white metal and dark wood-toned siding with a grounded brick base to create a striking architectural composition. Indoors, rich black woods, warm oak finishes, and soft earth tones carry through from the welcoming lobby to a boutique hotel-style work lounge.
The design team overcame several technical challenges, including the presence of a major gas line and complex site constraints, requiring close coordination with utility companies and the city through a rigorous entitlement process. Ultimately, RSP’s vision prevailed, transforming the site into a place of understated luxury. Hallways are animated with bold flooring patterns, units balance light and dark materials, and shared spaces, from the pool deck to the dog run, encourage a sense of community. Carefully chosen details, functional amenities, and enduring materials make The Blakeley a standout example of modern suburban design.
