Renewal by Andersen
A remodel for a remodeling company
We’re guessing the popularity of HGTV contributed, but regardless, Renewal by Andersen, the replacement window company, is booming. And they were busting at the seams of its original headquarters and manufacturing building. Originally designed by RSP in 1999, the building could be easily expanded. Or as we like to say, “renewed.” So with several of the original RSP design team members, we got to work remodeling the remodeling company.
As their business grew, Renewal by Andersen’s brand evolved, so leadership desired a workplace that more accurately reflected the company values and vision. Our goal was to update the workplace, add amenities, and expand and streamline manufacturing. The result is a new, two-story, 11,000 SF open office environment featuring bright colors, daylight, and collaborative spaces. To enhance work/life balance, our design included a mother’s room and exercise facility. To help manufacturing, we added 113,000 SF to the floorplate and enhanced the building’s automation system. New clearstory windows (from parent company Andersen Windows, of course) allow natural daylight onto the floor. There’s also a comfortable break room and 17 new loading docks.
The entire project was designed to reinforce the company’s commitment to sustainability. We specified high-efficiently LED lighting, a staged storm water management system and a new landscaping plan required the planting of 200 new trees. Since moving in, Renewal by Andersen execs report improvements in employee satisfaction and efficiency, helping their team realize their business motto, “just in time.”
