Moov Technologies Headquarters
Making Big Moves for Innovative Ideas
As the world’s first real-time marketplace for used digital equipment, Moov Technologies challenged RSP to design a new workplace that reflects the spirit and agility of a start-up with the seriousness of purpose of the company’s next chapter of growth. RSP responds with a space that not only embodies Moov’s brand but also serves as the ideal recruiting tool for their rapidly expanding workforce.
The design takes cues from the textures and colors of a silicon wafer chip—a building block of semiconductor technology—and is organized to accommodate Moov’s dynamic culture. The 32,000-SF open-plan space occupies the entire 16th floor of 100 Mill, downtown Tempe’s premier new office tower that is LEED-, WELL- and Fitwel-certified. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow for abundant natural light as well as extraordinary views of the downtown and Tempe Town Lake.
The space serves as a cultural touchpoint for a company expected to grow by 300% in the next few years. Meeting spaces and focus areas are strategically positioned throughout and include a variety of layouts and configurations to support a wide range of needs and meeting styles. With collaboration key to Moov’s culture, the workplace features abundant call rooms and flexible spaces, encouraging cross-functional conversations and impromptu discussion.
Angular elements and geometries recur in a number of unexpected places. Dichroic glass, an angled reception desk which resembles quartz (also an element in semiconductor manufacturing) and suspended acoustic panels all echo a similar pattern. Even the ceiling and walls suggest the rhythms and movement of a tech-driven organization charging into the future.
