Finding new life in new headquarters
Their clients give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. Moving from St. Paul to the Mississippi River establishes a beautiful permanent gathering space. One with a memorial garden overlooking the river and downtown Minneapolis. Our clean, warm and welcoming design orients the building to the river and tribute garden. A healing presence for all involved in this very difficult and challenging work.
The building forms are strong, simple, and elegantly proportioned to create an environment driven foremost by program, yet responsive to the site. A green roof and terrace provide views over the garden, river and back to the city. Using wood, metal panels, and various types of glazing, our design team created a rich patterning of texture and color. The interior environment reflects the exterior. Natural finishes, daylight, framed views to the garden, river and downtown encourage connections and community.
