JLL Phoenix Office at The Grove
A Workplace for Disruptive Innovation
Enticing workers back into the office has become a core tenet of workplace strategy in recent years. RSP’s design for JLL’s new office space at The Grove, a highly anticipated mixed-use destination in Phoenix, does exactly that.
Inspired by JLL’s “disruptive innovation” mentality, the design team created a concept with a distinct personality and an emphasis on the human experience. The 31,000-SF workplace is a showpiece for the renowned brokerage firm—a place to tour clients and support a variety of market sectors. The open, inviting lobby is seamlessly integrated into the Class-AA office building, with an operable partition that essentially eliminates the “front door” of the office and becomes an extension of the workplace. This fusion of space creates a welcoming and intuitive entry experience, inviting visitors and employees into the space. The design and materiality of the office is classic and polished. Warm woods complement luxe fabrics, creating a modern yet timeless aesthetic that feels both high-end and approachable.
In addition to the open office, there are a variety of tech-enabled meeting and collaboration rooms, allowing for choice in where and how people work throughout the day. One of the signature elements is the highly flexible work café. Designed to be utilized throughout the day and into the evening, the dynamic multi-purpose space includes a variety of comfortable seating and places to gather. Perfect for touching down between meetings or grabbing a cold brew, the work café can also accommodate larger team celebrations or client-facing events.
Proud of their deep Arizona roots and Sonoran Desert context, the project celebrates JLL’s brand values through a local lens. The lobby and work café feature a wood trellis element with stunning glass pendant lights, reminiscent of the citrus trees that are embedded in the area’s history. Local art is hung throughout the office, including historic photographs of the site over the years.
Balancing a respect for the past with an eye toward the future, the workplace also features a custom room for JLL’s proprietary visualization platform, Blackbird. With large screens and comfortable seating, brokers can explore a variety of property options with their clients in a highly immersive, lounge environment.
