The Informalist
A fresh farm-to-table restaurant
The Informalist isn’t just farm-to-table. It’s farm-to-hotel-to-table. Located within The Lismore Hotel – a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, the 4,000 SF restaurant is much more than a standby for tired travelers. It dishes up Midwest-inspired meals made with responsibly sourced ingredients – all in a bright, modern space that welcomes hotel guests and the community alike.
The restaurant continues the Lismore’s fresh aesthetic, extending the concept of local Eau Claire identity – a key element in the hotel’s design – into the 130-seat dining room. Our design team crafted a homegrown vibe through Scandinavian design touches, like light wood floors, white subway tiles, mid-century modern furniture and long, reclaimed wood community tables. Royal blue tiles on and above the bar add a pop of color to the otherwise neutral palette. The dining room is finished with vintage-style light fixtures and wood ceiling panels striped with LEDs.
An exhibition kitchen underscores The Informalist’s commitment to serving made-to-order food with nothing to hide. Outside, our team designed a 1,000 SF patio anchored by an herb garden and a living wall of grapes, which keeps the restaurant stocked with fresh ingredients during the warmer months. Within the hotel, it is complemented by the ECDC Coffee Shop and the DIVE Rooftop Lounge.
