Florida is the sunshine state, however at times everyone, including buildings need some respite from the Florida sun. Located on a prominent corner in Fort Lauderdale, the entire north façade is in the shade which provides the opportunity for a full exposure glass façade that opens the DoubleTree public spaces to the surrounding community. The rooftop terrace and pool deck utilize a delicate layering of landscape, trellis, canopies and umbrellas to add shade creating a comfortable oasis. Full glass operable walls tucked deep under overhangs integrate the rooftop interior and exterior spaces into one.
The DoubleTree’s design is clean, simple and modern. It does not easily give away it’s sustainable secrets which keep visitors comfortable and assist with long term cooling costs.
