Columbus Regional Health at NexusPark
A New Concept for Community-Centric Healthcare
Going beyond a traditional healthcare project or even a typical mixed-use development, NexusPark combines urban revitalization, healthcare, retail, and a highly collaborative Integrated Project Delivery process, all in a landmark that will transform the City of Columbus.
The area has a history common to towns across the United States—the Columbus Fair Oaks Mall was slowly dying with several failing anchor stores and a neighborhood falling into disrepair around it. The solution is an innovative, team effort to create a true asset that will serve the community for generations to come. The City of Columbus and Columbus Regional Health jointly purchased the failing shopping center to create a completely new facility that will revitalize the neighborhood, draw visitors to the city, and provide much-needed healthcare resources and services.
RSP has partnered with BSA LifeStructures on design, SSR for engineering, and Turner Construction on the healthcare component of the project, working collaboratively as a unified team across multiple locations and expertise. RSP is providing interior design, interior architecture, and planning. The final project consolidates 15 clinics across the city that were previously acquired by Columbus Regional Health. The clinics, covering diverse specialties from pediatrics to obstetrics to primary care to PT/OT, will now be housed under one roof and under the Columbus Regional Health brand umbrella across 150,000 SF, all while improving the health of the entire community.
In addition to the 15 clinics, the completed project will be a true destination in the heart of Columbus, with an indoor sports fieldhouse, shopping, restaurants, medical office space and an outdoor public park.
