Bayshore
A new Bayshore experience
It’s a 21st century retail story. As the shopping center experience evolves, the built environment must evolve as well. Bayshore Town Center is a 60+ year old shopping center in Glendale WI. With a couple renovations under its belt it was time for a major facelift to make it an experiential destination for the long-term.
RSP’s vision, with Cypress Equities, Hunzinger Construction and GRAEF, was to transform the shopping center from an outdated, enclosed mall into a modern shopping, dining and entertainment destination. It’s all about placemaking. Creating spaces and opportunities for memorable experiences. The plan is for less retail tenants and more dining and entertainment options. It’s mixed-use at its finest. The goal? A fresh and attractive look for years to come.
The existing rotunda will remain inside creating opportunity for indoor entertainment. The original enclosed mall will be converted to an open-air mixed-use development featuring a hotel, residential and senior housing. The remaining structures, shops, restaurants and a theater, will get cosmetic façade upgrades. The heart of the project, the central plaza, is keen to become a lively communal space. Concerts, movies, markets, picnics and more. The space will feel more open and increase connectivity all year long with landscaping upgrades and outdoor furniture.
A new look and feel calls for a new name. Based on community input, Bayshore Town Center will change its name to Bayshore. Striking signage complemented by local art will welcome visitors, while residential units and senior housing will invite residents to settle in and enjoy a new experience.
