Allina Health Greenway Clinic and Urgent Care
Improving patient community, convenience and care
RSP’s design for Allina Health’s Greenway Clinic and Urgent Care creates a welcoming, community-convenient facility that “meets each patient where they are.” Challenged to transform an existing clinic into one that embraces the Allina Health brand and serves a growing Minneapolis neighborhood, RSP took a collaborative and pragmatic approach that places the patient at the center of the experience.
Through a series of work sessions and design charettes, RSP partnered with both primary and urgent care stakeholders to create a highly efficient, functional space that feels warm, welcoming and customer-focused. The interactive workshops helped shape the clinic’s care processes, functional plans, technology integration and, ultimately, unique environmental aesthetic. The design reuses as much of the existing case work as possible and relies on a number of simple but bold gestures—like watercolor wall murals and a modular lobby desk—to create a consistent, accessible brand experience while meeting a very tight budget.
Working within the constraints of the existing space, a clear, efficient circulation path accommodates both in-person and digital experiences, allowing patients the convenience of choosing between walk-in or pre-registered check-ins. And the clinic’s convenient location at a popular neighborhood shopping center makes the Greenway Clinic and Urgent Care the ideal community amenity.
