Melany Bjorkman
Melany grew up under unique circumstances: her older sister was diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease at a very young age. Her first-hand, personal experience with the challenges anyone with a disability faces in the built environment sparked her passion for interior design. She understands the big – and little – design moves than matter. And strives to make a difference through design to create spaces that are enjoyable for everyone, no matter their situation. An approach that’s inherently present in every aspect of her work today. She applies that expertise every day working on an array of projects from a variety of healthcare spaces to office environments. Her clients value her perspective and methodology as an inclusive designer who ensures access for all. True to her uplifting personality, Melany is quick to take on leadership roles, even winning an award for her extensive work with the Southeast Minnesota chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction.
