Sustainability. Austin, Texas expects it from citizens. So it was time to tackle this issue within the city organization itself. Leveraging the City’s existing IWMS, we implemented a sustainability module to efficiently and effectively collect and report greenhouse gas emissions. The new system automates data streams from 35 departments. It aggregates all fuel and energy utilities and refrigerant from over 5,000 vehicles and 600 city-owned buildings. Now available in an easy-to-read, and use, format, the information is online and accessible by city staff, department managers and governmental officials.
