RSP Welcomes New Director of Sustainability

National architecture practice names Linnea Brudenell AIA, LEED AP Director of Sustainability, charged with embedding sustainability across the firm’s culture, operations and projects.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN—15 September 2025—RSP, the national architecture and design practice, has named Linnea Brudenell AIA, LEED AP as their new Director of Sustainability. Brudenell is a recognized leader in resilience and regenerative design and brings more than 20 years of experience in transforming the built environment and advising organizations on shaping business models that enable broad-scale climate action and market impact. Brudenell has been charged with inspiring a culture that views great design, and providing the best client service, to inherently include resilience, adaptation and environmental stewardship, alongside operational excellence and social engagement.
“Linnea understands the technical and operational foundation of regenerative design,” says Andrew Burnett AIA, LEED AP BD+C, RSP’s CEO. “Her leadership strengthens RSP’s potential impact at a time when our clients and communities face unprecedented challenges and opportunities to create resilient, future-proof solutions.”
Based in Phoenix, Brudenell comes to RSP with a track record of helping organizations connect sustainability to the broader purpose of social equity, climate adaptation and tangible, data-driven solutions that drive business success.
“I’m drawn to RSP’s pragmatism,” says Brudenell. “Their work touches so many people in so many places, and our impact can be profound at multiple levels, especially at a social, economic and human scale.”
Brudenell joins RSP at a time when sustainable design is moving beyond the transactional pursuits of materials and systems into a broader, more transformative stage that shapes communities, impacts social and cultural health, strengthens business goals and even impacts national security.
“This is an exciting time for the profession, especially for those practices that have RSP’s reach,” says Brudenell. “My goal is to connect internal processes and external policy, data and design to create solutions that not only meet today’s needs but regenerate environmental, social and economic value for future generations,” says Brudenell.
Brudenell joins RSP after a career as a strategic advisor to private, institutional and public entities, focusing on growth initiatives related to resilience and sustainability. She is active in the AIA’s Large Firm Roundtable Committee on Sustainability, and serves co-chair of the Program Working Group for the US Green Building Council’s Greenbuild, the largest international green building conference in the world.
Brudenell receives a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Reed College in Portland, Oregon and a Master’s of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon.
