Designing for Connection and the Future of Work
As hybrid work continues to reshape expectations for the office, companies are rethinking what the workplace should offer, both functionally and emotionally. North Central Companies embraced this opportunity with their new 11,000-square-foot headquarters at Carlson Towers, partnering with RSP to create a space that reflects who they are today and who they aim to become.
Working closely with leadership, RSP designed an environment that fosters connection, flexibility, and wellbeing. Natural light floods the open office and gathering areas, while views of the surrounding woods offer a sense of calm. The layout balances focused and collaborative spaces, with intimate breakout rooms, a welcoming work café, and a tech-enabled boardroom. At the center, a shared entrance links two divisions of the company with warm walnut paneling, white bouclé seating, dark steel accents, and a fireplace that signals comfort and cohesion.
More than a collection of workstations and meeting rooms, the headquarters reflects NCC’s investment in its people. Sit/stand desks, ergonomic furnishings, and hospitality-inspired design details reinforce a culture of care and adaptability.
