RSP Welcomes New Healthcare Leader
National architecture practice RSP announces Amy L. Williams AIA, LEED AP, an industry veteran, will lead their growing Healthcare and Life Sciences market sector.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN—11 November 2024—RSP, the national architecture and design practice, names Amy L. Williams AIA, LEED AP, as the new leader of their growing Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) market sector. Williams, an award-winning healthcare designer and recognized industry expert, succeeds Jon Buggy AIA, who announced his retirement last month.
“Amy is the ideal leader for HLS,” says Buggy. “She brings a deep understanding of the market and the forces shaping the industry today. She knows how to build a practice, solve those intractable problems our clients always seem to have, and mentor the next generation of professionals. We couldn’t have found a better candidate.”
Williams comes on board at a time when the healthcare industry faces no small amount of change and consolidation. From emergent technologies like AI and a robust embrace of sustainable approaches, to community-based health, STEM research and patient-centered care, Williams brings more than two decades of experience in all facets of health science planning, design and delivery.
“RSP is the ideal environment for me,” says Williams. “Not only do we have a solid foundation of work with world-class clients like Mayo Clinic, we have a vibrant culture of collaboration and client service, not to mention a team of extraordinary professionals who are poised to propel the practice into new levels of greatness.”
Amy is nationally recognized as a leader in healthcare design—a reputation forged from experience with such clients as Mayo Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, Intermountain Healthcare, and Cedars-Sinai, among others. She understands the unique operational needs of today’s healthcare providers as well as the pressures of producing sustainable, impactful solutions that generate positive outcomes.
Williams joins RSP from Perkins & Will, where she led their Midwest regional health practice. She was also the managing principal of HDR’s Minneapolis and LA offices, as well as a principal at NBBJ in Los Angeles. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Iowa State University.
