Recognized as the military’s premier Total Force Training Center, Fort Hunter Liggett needed new housing units to continue to provide superior quality of life for those on base.
RSP designed new three-story townhouse-style Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH) to provide comfortable and efficient barracks for soldiers. Barrack design varies by location but reinforces discipline, training and camaraderie. The complex includes ten, three-bedroom units along with vehicle parking. The design provides residential character, as well as security, privacy and durability to the military members on base.
The sustainable design consists of stucco walls and a light-colored concrete tile roofing system to counteract heat. The UPH Barracks received LEED Silver certification for the reduction in water and energy use, use of recycled materials and a variety of indoor environmental quality measures.
