A commitment to quality.
It’s as clear as it was in 1891 when George A. Hormel first founded Hormel Foods in Austin, MN. “Originate, don’t imitate.” Hormel’s personal mantra is a big reason why, more than 125 years later, Hormel Foods still produces some of the world’s favorite and most trusted brands.
The “originate, don’t imitate” mantra could also be applied to Hormel Foods’ new 52,000SF research and development facility. Unlike most microbiology and chemistry labs in the food industry, Hormel’s new building is light-filled with beautiful views to the surrounding 13.5 acre site. Open collaboration spaces complement sophisticated labs. The form of the building features interior courtyards to allow natural daylight to flood all work areas.
Open in 2016, the new facility supports product innovation, improves quality control, increases efficiencies and provides security and safety. The building supports Hormel Foods’ mission to understand emerging new market opportunities, changing consumer lifestyles and always offering convenience, nutritious choices.
