The pursuit of something better.
For Jay Richardson, it all began with a cabin floor plan. As a ten-year-old, he watched his older brother sketch out a rough rendering for their family cabin. In that moment Jay knew he wanted to be an architect. Now a senior project designer on the Target team, he’s come a long way from those cabin sketches. His favorite projects revolve around smart exterior design where each piece works together to solve multiple problems. Jay and his team help clients see the value in their buildings by the application of sensible strategies, a sense of proportion and flair. Getting a project done right and on time are two of his top priorities. A true team player, Jay loves mentoring new designers and enjoys seeing younger members of his team develop into serious architects. He finds energy in the transformation of projects from beginning to end and loves watching how his team’s collective efforts change a building for the better.
